Painting of a person with blue skin, wearing a gold crown, red dress, and face paint, sitting on a bed with a red and white blanket, in a room with a window showing trees, a fish mounted on the wall, and black and gold curtains.

About My Work

I begin my painting process inspired by emotions, textures, and the world around me. Rather than aiming for “pretty paintings,” I let texture and color take the lead, guiding the direction of each piece. My work is rooted in the grit and rawness of surface and material — I enjoy exploring the tactile qualities of paint and experimenting with various mediums. This process allows me to create work that feels instinctive and emotionally driven, where the imperfections and unpredictability become an essential part of the final composition.

My Process

Abstract painting with dark blue and black bottom and pink, peach, and gray upper sections, resembling a sunset over a silhouette of cliffs or rocks.

I work primarily with acrylic paint, drawn to its versatility and fast-drying nature. Each painting begins with research — I study the great masters whose techniques, compositions, and emotional depth continue to inspire me. Their influence becomes a quiet foundation in my work.

The Before

Before painting, I sketch out compositions to plan the visual flow and structure. This step helps me think critically about balance, movement, and focus. Once I begin painting, texture becomes a central element. I let the surface guide me — layering paint, building form, and allowing texture to shape the emotion and energy of the piece.

Though my process begins with intention and planning, I leave space for spontaneity. Each work evolves naturally as I respond to the materials, the texture, and the mood of the moment.
